One obvious difference between South Africa and the United States is the weather. Nancy especially misses the snow right now, I do not know why! Here we have mostly hot and dry weather, somewhat like the state of Arizona. We are also one mile up in elevation, so it is somewhat like Denver as well. We have a windy season with quite a bit of dust coming into the houses. Right now is the rainy season. Hmmm, here is a man walking outside with his umbrella. It must be raining, right? Not so fast. Here, people use umbrellas more for "portable shade" and not for rain protection. So umbrellas o utside is a sure sign that today will be a hot and sunny day!
